Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with police forces in pandemic-hit areas

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on June 8 held a videoconference with the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Combat of the Ministry of Public Security, as well as leaders of the Provincial Police Departments of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang and Field Hospital No.2 run by public security doctors in Bac Giang.

Representatives of the local police and medical reinforcements in the pandemic hotspots briefed the deputy minister on their anti-COVID activities and difficulties in performing their tasks.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son emphasized that the 4th wave of the pandemic has caused huge consequences in terms of people’s health and socio-economic development.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the political system, the situations in the pandemic-hit localities have been put under control. The Public Security Forces, especially the force working in the COVID hotspots, have been playing an important role in pandemic prevention and combat. 

During the 10 days of working in the COVID epicenter of Bac Giang city, all public security doctors and medical workers at Field Hospital 2 have demonstrated their high sense of responsibility, excellent professional expertise and good care for COVID patients. Over the past 3 days, 66 patients have been reported to recover and discharged from the hospital.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son emphasized that all units under the Ministry of Public Security should have plans to vaccinate frontline officers and soldiers in pandemic-hit localities.

They should enhance dissemination of COVID-19 prevention and promptly praise teams and individuals with outstanding achievements in pandemic prevention and combat.
