In Ngoc Lam Commune, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and the delegation of the MPS, along with the Nghe An Provincial Police Department had a meeting with the Ngoc Lam Communal People’s Committee and visited the communal police post.
Ngoc Lam is a border commune of Nghe An Province sharing 17 km borderline with Laos. It consists of 14 villages home to over 1,400 households with 6,103 people most of whom are of ethnic minorities.

Ngoc Lam Commune currently has 3 full-time police officers holding the positions of Head and Deputy Head of the Commune Police post.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh asked the local Party committee and authority to further support and coordinate with the local commune police in maintaining the local order situation and border security.

The Deputy Minister urged the local police officers to actively learn and follow the customs and practices of local ethnic people.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh presented a television and a computer to the Ngoc Lam People’s Committee and the Ngoc Lam Police Post.
Within the framework of the trip, the delegation and Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also attended the great national unity festival at Ma village, Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong District.
At the festival, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh presented gifts to local people, inquired after and presented gifts to Mr. Luong Van Hung, a local policy beneficiary.
