Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh checks task performance of Quang Tri Police

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on November 25 led a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security to work with the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department.

The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and leaders of the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department.

Reports at the meeting read that, in recent time, the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department has coordinated with local authorities in ensuring public security and order; promptly solved complex criminal cases and eradicated numerous security hotspots. 

The unit also thoroughly grasped the situation, promptly detected and fighted sabotage plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces.

Accordingly, the number of criminal cases was reduced compared to the same period in 2018, 1.8% lower than the target assigned by the Ministry of Public Security. The rate of successful investigation of criminal cases was 10.4% higher than the set target while 100% serious and extremely serious criminal cases were solved. 

The local police force also strengthened the State management over public security and order, and took strong measures to ensure traffic order and safety; as a result, the number of traffic accidents significantly reducedcompared to the same period in 2018.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh recognized and appreciated the achievements obtained by the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department over the past time.

Regarding missions in the coming time, the Deputy Minister asked the Quang Tri Provincial Police to well perform their assigned tasks, promptly advise local Party committees and authorities to maintain public security and order in the localities.

Deputy Minister Thanh also urged the unit to speed up the deployment of professional police offices to communes, promote the movement “All people protecting National security”, fight against all kinds of crimes, and ensure absolute safety for people during Tet holidays.

Earlier, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security worked with the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Huong Phung commune in Huong Hoa districton the deployment of professional police officersto the communal police post.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh recognized the efforts of the Huong Hoa district police, the Party Committee and authorities of Huong Phung commune over the past years in maintaining local security and order as well as creating favorable conditions for newly deployed professional police officers to fulfill their tasks. 

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also requested the Huong Phung Communal Police Post and Huong Hoa District Police Station to strengthen coordination with other forces in the locality to further improve the effectiveness of prevention and fight against crimes.

On this occasion, on behalf of the working delegation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh presented equipment and machinery to the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Huong Phung Commune and Huong Phung Communal Police Post.
