Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh discusses cyber security with US expert
PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security had a talk on cyber security with Professor Dreck Reveron at the United States Naval Academy on March 28 in the People’s Police Academy.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh expressed his delight at the fine and positive developments in the relations between Vietnam and the US. He also expressed honor as Prof. Dr. Dreck Reveron, a young scientist and politician, one of the leading experts on human security and cybercrime visited the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the People's Police Academy (PPA) and discussed issues of mutual concern.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also made appraisals on the current situation of information security in Vietnam; predicted the future of national security and national prosperity based on the digital platform as well as challenges hindering efforts to build a prosperous society and minimize the security risks in all areas.
He underscored the non-traditional security issues in the context of the 4th industrial revolution, which challenges personal privacy; and at the same time, creates new norms of cooperation…

The Deputy Minister also proposed some orientations for Vietnam-US cooperation in response to challenges of the 4th industrial revolution in general and cyber security in particular.
Prof. Dreck Reveron thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh for his time to discuss issues of cyber security of mutual concern. He also confirm to increase specific exchanges and cooperation activities with the MPS of Vietnam as well as the PPA in the coming time in order to promote cooperation between Vietnam's MPS and relevant agencies of the US.
