Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh affirmed that Vietnam always considers the USas one of the important partners and continue promoting the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership on the basis of respect for each other’s national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political system.
Regarding cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and relevant US agencies over the past time, the host hailed good outcomes of the bilateral cooperation in information exchange on economic crime, social crime, cybercrime, and so on.
In addition, the two sides also coordinated in organizing a lot of Internet-based training courses on prevention and control of human trafficking, child sexual abuse and other related crimes.
In order to enhance cooperation in prevention and fight against crimes, contributing to the stability and development of Vietnam and the United States, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh suggested the USLEC, IACP and Vietnamese MPS strengthen exchange of professional information and working experience in preventing and controlling transnational crime, especially terrorism, cybercrime, drug trading and human trafficking, promote coordination in crime prevention and investigation, strengthen cooperation in training and capacity building for law enforcement forces of Vietnam responsible for cybercrime, economic crime, human trafficking and terrorism.
Sincerely thanking Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh for the warm reception,Mr. Robert Kugler, Saddle Brook County Sheriff under the New Jersey State Police Department expressed his delight at positive developments in bilateral cooperation between the two countriesover the past time.
According to him, this has served as an important premise for the two countries to effectively exploit the existing cooperation mechanisms as well as expand new areas in the coming time. Mr. Robert Kugler expressed his belief that in the coming time, the cooperation between the two countries in general and between the MPS and the USLEC in particular would continue to grow to a new level, achieve many good results, for the sake of national security and interests of people of two countries.
