Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh visits Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery at former Son La Prison

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security on May 27 visited the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery at the historical Son La Prison.

The visit was made on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's 130th birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2020) and in celebration of the 75th Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2020) and the 15th “All People Protect National Security” Day (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2020).

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and his entourage offered incense and flowers in commemoration of the heroic martyrs who had sacrificed themselves for the Fatherland protection cause.

The visit was part of a profound political education program launched by the Ministry of Public Security to educate public security officers and soldiers on the glorious traditions of the People’s Public Security Forces as well as heighten their sense of responsibility for their assigned tasks, contributing to protecting national security.
