PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security on November 21 worked with the Bac Kan Provincial Police Department.
At the meeting, Senior Colonel Duong Van Tinh, Director of the Bac Kan Provincial Police Department briefed the Deputy Minister on the unit’s tasks performances in 2018.

According to Senior Colonel Duong Van Tinh, as the leader of the Emulation Grouping 3 of the Ministry of Public Security, the Bac Kan Provincial Police has concretized all emulation movements with the slogan “Being active, innovative, disciplined, responsible, effective and devoted to the people”.
During the year, the Bac Kan Provincial Police well performed their key tasks and maintained local security and safety, contributing to social-economic development of the province while actively taking measures to promote the “All people protecting National security” movement and administrative reforms.
According to the official statics, in 2018, the Bac Kan Provincial Police has successfully investigated and solved nearly 86.5% of the criminal cases. The unit also cracked down a large drug-related ring with nearly 60kg of heroin seized.
Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Thanh spoke highly of the Bac Kan Provincial Police’s role as the leader of the Emulation Grouping 3 of the Ministry of Public Security. He also praised the unit for its excellent achievements in 2018.
The Deputy Minister of Public Security analyzed major non-traditional security challenges in the current context, saying that such issues are posing threats to human and social security in terms of political, economic, cultural, social, national defense and security, ecology and environment.
Deputy Minister Thanh asked the local police to focus on preventing and fighting terrorist activities, drugs-related crime, transnational crime, trafficking of women and children, arms smuggling, money laundering, economic crime, high-tech crime.
Deputy Minister Thanh responded to 8 questions and proposals of the Bac Kan Provincial Police, and requested the unit to continue efforts to accomplish the remaining 2018 tasks and draw up plans to combat criminals during the upcoming 2019 Lunar New Year festival.By Thien Minh
