Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh works with Da Nang on immigration management

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on May 22, worked with the Municipal People’s Committee and Police of Da Nang on regulations of entry and exit and residence of foreigners.  

An overview of the event

Major General Nguyen Huu Tiep, Vice Head of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) briefed the participants in the meeting on initial results of the inspection of the implementation of the regulations of entry and exit and residence of foreigners in the city of Da Nang.

The report pointed out both good results and shortcomings in the city’s management of immigration and residence of foreigners, as well as its inspection and settlement of complaints and denunciations, and handling of violations and other issues involving local agencies and individuals. The Inspectorate of the MPS also proposed measures to improve the effectiveness of observance of laws.

According to Senior Colonel Tran Dinh Lien, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Police Department, the city strictly followed the regulations and laws in the management of entry, exit and residence of foreigners in the locality. Over the past time, the city’s police have also coordinated with other municipal agencies to carry out 13 inspections over 13 local agencies and units, with a focus on their management of foreigners, reception and management of visiting foreign delegations during their stay in Da Nang.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh hailed the city’s implementation of the regulations on exit and entry and residence of foreigners in Da Nang. He also acknowledged delegates’ ideas and suggestions on amendments and supplements to some regulations to facilitate the practical management of immigration and residence of foreigners.

The Deputy Minister also asked competent agencies to promote their strengths and overcome their weaknesses to further improve the effectiveness of the management of immigration and residence of foreigners.
