The mission included representatives from the Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City municipal firefighting police departments and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
The inspection took place at the 68-storey Betexco building, located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, where the number of daily visitors can reach 10,000.

As a super high-rise building, Betexco is equipped with a modern and intelligent fire prevention system. After being briefed on the fire prevention and firefighting work at the building, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh personally inspected the fire alarm system and the water storage area designated for firefighting and the generator system of the building.
The deputy minister highly valued the specialized and highly-synchronized firefighting and fire prevention system of the building.
However, he also suggested wider dissemination of firefighting and fire prevention knowledge via holding training courses on escaping skills for people working and living at the building and preventing unexpected situations, aiming to minimize damages.
The inspection was conducted amid the ongoing preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum’s meetings and on the occasion of the peak month of inspection of fire prevention and firefighting work of houses, commercial centers, high-rise and super high-rise buildings.
According to Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh, the APEC 2017 summit will see the attendants of heads of 21 APEC member economies and about 10,000 other delegates. APEC meetings are being held in Vietnam, in cities and provinces such as Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Thua Thien Hue, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam...
Therefore, to ensure safety for the important events, the Ministry of Public Security organized a mission to inspect the implementation of fire prevention and firefighting work in some localities to grasp the real situations so as to soon detect and handle shortcomings.
Prior to the inspection in Ho Chi Minh City, the mission had completed inspection in Hanoi and Da Nang city.
