Deputy Minister working with several EU agencies

PSNews - Deputy Minister had a working session with the European External Action Service and met with the Director of Southeast Asian Affairs David Daly. 


Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security led a delegation to work with several EU agencies on March 10, in Brussels, Belgium.

At the first meeting, Mr. Raffaele Mauro Petriccione - Chief of the negotiating delegation of the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) highly valued the cooperation achievements over the past time between the Vietnam Government and the European Union in various fields, including economy, politics, culture, society, crime prevention.

According to him, that the two sides have finished the negotiation process on the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement has marked a new turning point in the bilateral relationship between the two sides.

Specially, the collaboration activities of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security will actively contribute to accelerating the signing and ratification process of the EVFTA, he stressed.

Mr. Mauro also suggested that in the time ahead, Vietnam and EU should maintain dialogues and high-level visits with the aims of promoting mutual understanding and expanding potential cooperation in various fields of the two sides.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh recognised all efforts of the two sides for the EVFTA and highlighted the great contribution of Mr. Mauro Petriccione to the process. He believed that the EVFTA will help boost export-import activities of the two sides, improve the investment environment and create more jobs in the EU and Vietnam.

Vietnam will fully implement all commitments of the EVFTA once it come into effect. The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security will closely collaborate with relevant EU agencies in preventing crimes and ensuring security.
