Efficient coordination between police and military forces in Can Tho brings about practical results

The Can Tho Municipal Police Department in collaboration with the city’s Military Command on March 7 held a conference to review results of the cooperation between the two forces in line with Decree 77 of the Government.

Efficient coordination between police and military forces in Can Tho brings about practical results.

At the event, the two forces focused on reviewing the bilateral coordination in performing the tasks of protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety and defense tasks in 2018, and deployed key missions for 2019.

According to reports, the police and the military forces in 2018 well advised the Can Tho Municipal Party Committee and People Committee on implementing resolutions and directives of the Party, State, Government, Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Defense on national defense and security affairs as well as on strengthening the grassroots political system, and building a stronger whole people security posture in association with the all-people national defense posture.

Besides, the Can Tho city’s police and military forces also closely coordinated to ensure absolute safety for the people on holidays as well as for political events taking place in the locality, and Party, State leaders’ visits to the city.

The two forces regularly and effectively exchanged information related to political security, so as to devise and implement appropriate measures in time to prevent issues with bad impacts on the city’s socio-economic development.

The two forces also launched various campaigns to fight crimes and social evils; as a result, they successfully handled2,200 criminal cases related to drugs, prostitution, gambling and arrested 45 criminals with acts of sabotage against the Party and State.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Can Tho Municipal People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong highly appreciated the close cooperation between the city’s police and military forces in recent times.

He noted that, in 2019, the two forces should continue to educate Decree 77 of the Government for all officers and soldiers so that the two forces could further promote coordination, strengthen the information exchange mechanism to help both sides better grasp the situation and more effectively fight crimes and social evils in the locality
