Fire Prevention and Rescue drill held at Ha Long Oil Terminal

PSNews - The Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security on December 8 in collaboration with the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) held a fire prevention and rescue drill at the B12 Oil Terminal, Zone 1, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City.

This was a large and complex drill with the participation of 250 people and 40 vehicles from local functional forces.

The assumed scenario said that a 15,000-ton tanker while entering the jetty of the B12 Oil Terminal caused an oil spill incident that burst into flames and quickly spread to other places, which made several workers injured and trapped at the jetty.

As soon as detecting the fire, the fire police force of the B12 Oil Terminal raced to the scene and deployed efforts and assets to rescue victims and extinguish the fire. At the same time, they reported the situation and asked the Quang Ninh Provincial Fire Police Force for assistance.

Shortly after being informed of the case, the Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security and Vietnam Petrolimex sent more forces and means to the scene, in collaboration with the on-site forces and provincial fire police force quickly controlled the fire.

After 60 minutes, thanks to the good coordination among the involved forces and effective direction of the local authority, all victims were moved out of the fire area for emergency treatment and the fire was completely extinguished.

The fire prevention and rescue drill at the B12 Oil Terminal was successful with absolute safety of people and property. On this occasion, the Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue and Vietnam Petrolimex presented awards to 26 organizations and individuals with outstanding performances in the drill.
