Fire policemen actively joins professional search and rescue sport competition
The ceremony saw the presence of Major General Doan Viet Manh, Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security (C66) – head of the competition organizing committee.
The competition of Grouping 4 which hosted by the Can Tho Municipal Fire Police witnessed the participation of 13 teams with 192 athletes and coaches from fire fighting police units of Can Tho City, Vinh Phuc province an Khanh Hoa province.
The participants competed in 4 events: 100m obstacle run, long obstacle run, search and rescue in smoky and toxic gas environment; and rescue under water.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Doan Viet Manh, Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department (C66) stressed that the Professional Fire and Rescue Sport Competition this year were organized in 12 groupings with the participation of 164 teams. According to him, the sport competition was part of the program to implement Decree 83 of the Prime Minister regulating the rescue work of the fire police force.
The competition also contributed to promoting sport movements within the force, hence improving the professional skills of fire policemen in search and rescue to successfully fulfill the assigned tasks.
After 3 days of fierce rivalry, the first prize went to Fire Police Division 1 under the Can Tho Municipal Fire Police, the second prize was presented to Fire Police Division 1 of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Fire Police while the third prize was awarded to Fire Police Division 2 of the Can Tho Municipal Fire.
