Firefighting training course for restaurants and welding shops

PSNews - Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Division No.2 under the Hanoi Police on Nov. 13 opened a training course on fire safety rules and fire escape techniques in case of fire for employers of restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets, markets, trade centers and welding shops in the two districts of Ba Dinh and Dong Da, Hanoi city.

Colonel Pham Hai Hung, Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Division No.2 said, the fire safety training course will equip trainees with firefighting skills and knowledge of fire safety and fire escape techniques.

The training course also aimed to raise awareness and responsibility for practicing fire safety, fire prevention measures and firefighting skills among 500 owners or managers of the facilities, restaurants, and hotels, he added.

At the training session, fire prevention and fighting police officers provided trainees with basic knowledge of fire safety rules while offering typical fire cases.

Trainees were also instructed to operate a fire extinguisher and to choose fire extinguisher types suitable with different cases of fire.

Survival skills were also an important part of the training session. These include bowing down while escaping from fire, staying in closed room to avoid inhaling smoke, and using bright color cloths to send emergency signal.

Such a fire safety training course is necessary for all people, especially those working at fire-prone facilities in the city, after recent fire incidents that had caused heavy human and material losses.
