General Department of Police awards certificates of merit to PC52 Can Tho City Police

PSNews- The Police Department for Wanted Fugitves has honored a policeman and a unit of the Can Tho City Police who have contributed to resolving a big criminal case. 

On November 24, the Police Department for Wanted Fugitives under the authorization of the General Department of Police has awarded certificates of merit to Office PC52 of the Can Tho City Police and Senior Lieutenant Tran Minh Thanh at the Office for their outstanding achievements in cracking down a special criminal case.

Earlier, on September 29th, the Police Department for Wanted Fugitives has coordinated with Office PC52 under the Can Tho City Police to arrest suspect Lu Ping (aged 35, Chinese), entered Vietnam on June 7th, 2016. According to the police, on June 6th, Lu Ping has been listed as the most wanted by Bao Shan district police (Shanghai city, China) as he has been accused of illegally mobilizing money (equivalent to VND 18 billion) from residents of his place.

Ping then fled from his place in China to Vietnam to live with a woman he had known before, in Binh Thanh District (HCMC). Both of them then moved to Can Tho and took shelter in a rented house in area 5 (An Hoa Ward, Ninh Kieu District). The suspect was detected and arrested when he was about to open a restaurant.
