General To Lam encourages Public Security Forces to continue caring for wounded soldiers and martyrs’ relatives

PSNews – General To Lam, Politburo’s member, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Minister of Public Security chaired a meeting on July 21 with public security wounded soldiers, revolution contributors and public security martyr’s relatives on the occasion of the 73rd War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

The meeting also saw the presence of Major General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security; along with other members of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, representatives of local police units and nearly 400 public security wounded soldiers, public security martyrs’ relatives and contributors to the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam unveiled that Vietnam currently has over 9 million revolution contributors, nearly 1.2 million martyrs, along with hundreds of thousands people were imprisoned and tortured by the enemy or infected with toxic chemicals. More than 120,000 women have been awarded and posthumously awarded the title of “Vietnamese Heroic Mother”, and thousands of people were awarded the title  “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” and “Labor Hero.”

Minister To Lam affirmed that the Party, the State and the people always express their respect and gratitude to heroic martyrs, war wounded soldiers and revolution contributors for their contributions and sacrifices for the cause of national construction and defense.

Over the past years, the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of public security agencies and units at all levels have conducted gratitude activities and taken care of war wounded soldiers, martyrs’ relatives, and revolution contributors.

General To Lam also affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security has always been one of the leading units in implementing support policies for revolution contributors while public security agencies and units at all levels have participated actively and effectively in gratitude-paying activities.

Minister Lam urged the Public Security Forces to consider the care and support for war wounded soldiers, martyrs’ relatives and revolution contributors an honor and responsibility of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, the Ministry of Public Security, and all public security officers and soldiers.
