HCMC police take drastic measures to prevent Covid-19 in foreigner-packed areas
There are 5,000 foreigners from China, South Korea, Italy and Iran living and working in District 2 (Ho Chi Minh City). Over the past time, the local police have taken various measures to prevent COVID-19 and ensure local security and social order.

The leadership of the District 2 Police Station has directed all affiliated units to sterilize their offices. The local police units also gave information about the disease prevention measures to police officers and local people.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong, Deputy Head of the District 2 Police Station, the district police have urged apartment buildings, commercial centers and supermarkets to close their entertainment services, contributing to preventing the spread of the disease in the community.

In addition, the district police force paid due attention to ensuring security and social order in the local quarantine zones as well as strictly managed people returning from epidemic-hit areas. So far, 72 people with signs of Covid-19 have been quarantined at their houses in District 2.
Furthermore, the local police have checked the disease prevention and control work in local residential areas, industrial parks, offices, enterprises, schools and tourist resorts. They also inspected 19 local pharmacies and handled two for trading medical facemasks of unknown origin.
