Ha Giang police tests smart fire prevention system

The Provincial Police Department of Ha Giang on February 1 tested a smart fire alarm system.

This is part of a provincial scientific research project named “Application of information technology in ensuring security in Ha Giang”.

The test-run saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Duc Quy, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of the provincial police and representatives from relevant agencies and units. 

The delegates saw the test-run of the smart fire alarm systems, installed at Hoa Hong Kindergarten (Ha Giang City) and the Center for Fire Prevention and Fighting, Rescue under the Provincial Police Department.

The provincial police established a firefighting command center and installed a rapid fire warning system at the Police Office for Fire Prevention and Fighting, while installing smart fire alarm systems at 6 agencies and places in the province, said Senior Colonel Luc The Hung, Vice Director of the provincial police and chief of the scientific research team.

The smart fire alarm system will help promptly detect and report fire, facilitating the operation of firefighting force and contributing to minimizing the damage of fires to people and property of the State.

According to statistics from 2011 to April 2019, the Northernmost province of Ha Giang saw 498 cases of fire and 11 explosion cases, resulting in 11 deaths and 12 injuries, and some 48 billion VND in property loss. Over 76% of fires occurred in residential areas and households.
