Ha Nam provincial police take approaches to prevent and control COVID-19

Senior Colonel Nguyen Quoc Hung, Director of the Ha Nam Provincial Police Department, chaired a meeting on prevention and combat of COVID-19 pandemic in the province on August 2.

The Provincial Police Chief also led a delegation to check the security and order situation and present masks to policemen at checkpoints in Lam Ha ward.

A resident of Dinh Trang, Lam Ha ward, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam was tested positive for COVID-19 and became patient 620, the Ministry of Health confirmed on the afternoon of August 2.

After receiving the information, Senior Colonel Nguyen Quoc Hung directed all provincial police agencies and to track those who had contacted the patient, and support the provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in drawing up measures to constrain the spread of the virus in the province. The local police also coordinated with the health sector and local authorities to list all persons who had close contacts with the patient, supported medical workers to take testing samples and quarantine necessary cases.

The police force of communes and wards is assigned to make lists of all people who came back from the epidemic-hit areas from July 1, while preventing and handling anyone spreading fake information about the COVID-19 situation on the internet.
