Hanoi police ensure security during recent elections

PSNews–The Hanoi Municipal Police Department on June 19 held a conference to review the work of safeguarding the recent election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils term 2021-2026 in the locality.

The event saw the presence of Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Subcommittee on Security and Order for the Election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term (the Subcommittee).

At the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Nghia, Head of the Staff Agency under the Hanoi City Police Department, briefed the delegates on the results of Hanoi police forces in ensuring security and order and safety for the election in May.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Council, hails the effort of the Hanoi Police Forces.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee and People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Council, affirmed that the election of the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels in the city was a great success. He stressed that the Hanoi police made a large contribution to the common success.

Addressing the event, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang praised the Hanoi Municipal Police Department for their efforts and contributions to the overall success of the election.

He stressed that the Hanoi police with their high sense of responsibility actively grasped the situation and successfully handled a huge amount of work, thus contributing to ensuring security and order in the capital before, during and after the election.

In the coming time, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang asked the local police to step up crime suppression campaigns while paying attention to the management of immigration and foreign residence and participating in prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic. He stressed that the city’s police forces should maintain political security, social order and safety in the city in all situations.

During the event, representatives of units under the Hanoi Municipal Police Department also drew lessons from the work of safeguarding the recent national elections.
