PSNews - The Police Station of District 12, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) recently provided 200 standard helmets to fourth-grade students at Le Van Tho Primary School, in Tan Thoi Hiep Ward, District 12.

According to Major Le Huynh Nhu, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team of District 12 Police, the program was part of the intensive campaign to popularize traffic safety regulations and handle violations of the regulation of wearing helmets for children in District 12. These helmets had been donated by E-mart Vietnam.

The traffic safety regulation popularization drive aims to mobilize parents and students to wear helmets when riding motorcycles and electric bicycles, contributing to raise the public awareness of of observing the Traffic Law.

The local police force also increases patrols and checks to strictly handle violations of the regulation of wearing helmets in order to reduce traffic tolls on all three criteria (number of traffic accidents, traffic-related deaths and injuries), therefore decrease rate of child casualties in road accidents.
