Honoring Police Force’s new Doctors of Merit

PSNews-The Ministry of Public Security organized a meeting to congratulate and honor outstanding doctors working with the force.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security (MPS) attended and chaired the meeting.

The event also drew various leaders of the Health Department under the Ministry of Defense, representatives from relevant units and the 3 newly-entitled “People’s Doctors” and 17 “Doctors of Merit” of the People’s Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Pham Quang Cu, Vice Director of (General Department of Logistics and Techniques (G.D 5) under the MPS briefed participants on the achievements acquired by the healthcare sector of the Public Security Forces over the past years.

The Public Security Health Sector was officially founded on July 12, 1947. Over the past 70 years of development, the health sector has reached various comprehensive achievements.

The health service of the force has been consolidated and organized into 3 major professional levels, with 258 healthcare and medical facilities that have 10,000 beds.  The sector also has thousands of doctors, nurses, specialists, chemists, druggists and others.

Addressing the event, Mr. Lam applauded all efforts and contributions of generations of doctors and health workers in general and the newly entitled doctors in particular to the cause of caring for health of all officers, soldiers and workers of the Public Security Forces, so that they can have sufficient physical strength, fitness and spirit to firmly protect national security and social order.

The Minister urged various relevant units and hospitals under the MPS to pay more attention and create favorable conditions for health staff of the force to continuously contribute to improve healthcare services for police officers, soldiers and people. It is important to map out training plans to develop health personnel in both quantity and quality, modernize and develop various hospitals under the MPS to meet healthcare needs of officers and people.
