Hung Yen Police bust large drug trafficking ring

PSNews - After having processed information from local people and bracing the situation, the Hung Yen Municipal Police Sub-Department detected that the house at No.338, Trieu Quang Phuc street, An Tao ward, Hung Yen City had signs of illegal drug trafficking.

After days monitoring the location and involved subjects, the police force of Hung Yen City, under the leadership of Deputy Director of the Hung Yen Provincial Police Sub-Department Pham The Tung, launched a raid at 8.30 am on December 13 on the house and arrested 4 suspects of drug dealing. 

They are Nguyen Hoai Bac, aged 43, the baron of the drug ring; Pham Van Tuan, aged 18, and Dao Van Thiep, aged 22, both residing in Song Mai Commune; and Dao Xuan Loc, aged 20, residing in Luong Bang Town, Hung Yen Province.

Leaders of the provincial government and the Hung Yen Provincial Police Department presenting awards to the city’s police force in recognition of their merits. 

At the scene, the police also seized nearly 1,000 synthetic drug pills and over 100 linen bags containing methamphetamine weighing over 200 grams, as well as 3 scales, 2 swords, 2 walkie talkies, 5 motorcycles, a car, 5 cell phones and other tools used for drug trafficking.

According to the local police, the drug baron Nguyen Hoai Bac is very aggressive and dangerous. The suspect has been addicted to drugs for more than 10 years and has been an AIDS patient of final stage. He had been imprisoned for drug trafficking and was released in 2016. He also has a criminal offence of illegal use of drugs.

 The Hung Yen police have temporarily detained the 4 suspects for investigation.  They are trying to clarify roles of the involved subjects so as to quickly complete the dossiers and prosecute the suspects.

The successful crackdown on such a large drug trafficking ring of the Hung Yen police was highly appreciated by local people.

On December 14, leaders of the provincial government and the Hung Yen Provincial Police Department presented awards to the city’s police force in recognition of their merits.
