Lam Dong Police offer free porridge to poor patients

PSNews – Police officers of the Office of Administrative Management of Social Order, under the Provincial Police of Lam Dong have voluntarily offered free porridge to poor patients treated at Lam Dong General Hospital every Friday for more than a year. Their social support program is called “Gratitude Porridge”.

With their sense of responsibility for the community and compassion and empathy with poor patients, police officers and soldiers of the Youth Union Chapter and Women’s Association Chapter of the Lam Dong Police launched the programme of “Porridge of Compassion” a year ago.

To run the charitable program, each member voluntarily donates VND 20,000 per month and call other people and organizations in the community to contribute to the fund.

Although the local police officers and soldiers meet various difficulties in fulfilling their main tasks, they are determine to keep running the charity mission to support poor patients.

Since the launch of the program, some 2,000 meals of porridge have been offered to poor patients treated at the General Hospital of Lam Dong.
