Liaison Office of public security reinforcements to Southern battlefield inaugurated

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security on March 28 attended a ceremony to open the Liaison Office and Traditional Gallery of public security officers reinforced to the Southern battlefield during the country’s resistance war against American invaders (1954-1975).

The event saw the presence of representatives of agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security and members of the Liaison Committee.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and delegates cuts the inauguration ribbon to open the project.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh stated that the project has met the aspirations of all members of the Liaison Committee.

It serves as a place for common activities and meeting of liaison members as well as a gallery of historical exhibits featuring the policies of the Party and Ministry of Public Security, and heroic fallen public security officers who were reinforced to the revolutionary force on the southern battlefield during the country’s resistance war against American invaders.

The deputy minister emphasized that the Party, State, and Ministry of Public Security always appreciate the great sacrifices and contributions of generations of public security reinforcements to southern battlefield during the war, saying that that they have beautified the glorious tradition of the Public Security Forces.

During the war, 906 public security officers were killed on duty across battlefields in the south, 46 public security officers were arrested and imprisoned by the adversary while hundreds of others were wounded or exposed to Agent Orange/Dioxin.
