Local security guards join hands to prevent crime

PSNews - The 6-member mobile guard group of Gieng Day ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province has made great contributions to maintaining social order and safety in the area. Since its establishment in February 2015, the group has directly caught dozens of criminals of thefts and robberies. 

The 6 members of the Gieng Day ward's mobile guard group are considered as outstanding individuals who have been elected from the security guard force of the ward. During their night patrols in key areas, they actively coordinated with the police force in the combat against crime in order to protect a peaceful life for local people.

Leader of the mobile guard group Hoang Manh Cuong said, he and his member are residents of Gieng Day ward, and they all want to dedicate themselves to the maintenance of local security and order. Although they do not earn much from night patrols but the group's members are still very enthusiastic and dedicated to their work.

Since the mobile guard group model was put into operation, the security and order situation in Gieng Day ward has been improved significantly. The mobile guard group has prevented many cases of damaging public order, mediated 25 disputes, mobilized local street traders not to violate the sidewalks and to surrender 45 handmade bullets, and helped 5 ex-prisoners settle down their lives.

Especially, during the night patrols, the Gieng Day ward mobile guard group detected and caught 20 thefts and robberies, and handed over the cases to the police agencies.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Ninh, Chief of the Gieng Day Ward Police said that, since the day the mobile guard group established, the security and order situation in the ward has seen positive developments, and many criminals have been detected in time, while the number of robbery cases reducing significantly.

Day by day, the good deeds of the mobile guard group in Gieng Day ward contribute to bring peace and security to the local people. They are considered the right hand of the local police force in ensuring security and order in the locality.
