MPS Portal introduces new interface

The ceremony also saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Vi Quang Dao, Director of the Vietnam Government Portal; leaders of the Central agencies and branches, relevant General Departments, Commands and units under the MPS.

Over the past 8 years of its construction and development (since August, 2010), the MPS portal has successfully fulfilled its core mission of covering all activities of the Party Central Committee of the Public Security Forces, the MPS and the whole Public Security Forces. In recent years, the portal also showed some limitations. 

In response to the requirements of its new assignments and tasks, the Minister of Public Security had issued a decision to invest in a project to upgrade the portal to overcome all limitations of the old technology, update the platform with modern technology and new and additional features, and optimize system resources while enhancing security and safety of the system.

The project had been planned to run from December 2016 to December 2018, but it has been completed by May 2018.

An overview of the ceremony

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister To Lam recognized and praised the results achieved by the MPS Portal over the past years; urged the portal’s staff to closely follow its principle and objectives while strictly complying with the Law on Press, the regulations of the Party, the State and the MPS on secrecy protection and further promoting its role, strength and features. 

In addition, the portal’s staff must strive to promote the relations between the public security forces and the people, and serves as a formal, public and useful information channel for the people to learn about the MPS, performances of the whole public security forces as well as other access related information of their concern.

Via the portal, people can also express their feelings and aspirations, related to for agencies, organizations and individuals can ask questions about administrative regulations; give their proposals and opinions to public security agencies and units; and supervise every public security agency, unit or officer, contributing to building a better image of the public security officers.

On this occasion, the MPS Portal officially launched its English edition. Minister To Lam encouraged the MPS Portal’s staff to promote the efficiency of the English edition and try to open other foreign language editions so as to promote the image of the Public Security Forces and their good deeds in protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety to oversea Vietnamese and international friends across the world.
