MPS and MND discuss NA resolution on defense and security land management and use

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), Ministry of National Defense (MND), and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment cohosted a conference on January 5 to review their drafting of the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 132/2020/QH14.

Resolution No. 132/2020/QH14 issued on November 17, 2020 by the National Assembly aims to pilot a number of policies to remove problems and limitations in the management and use of defense and security land for economic purposes.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense; and Mr. Le Minh Nga, Deputy Minister of Natural Resource and Environment co-chaired the event.

Functional agencies under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Justice, the Government Office, the Office of the National Assembly, and the Party Central Committee’s Office had closely coordinated to complete the draft resolution in a short time.

According to the Economic Commission, the draft resolution accorded to the laws.

The resolution will help address remaining problems and limitations of current regulations in employing the land managed by the Ministry of Public Security for production, business and economic activities. The resolution agrees with the current policies for the armed forces as well as instructions of the Politburo and Permanent Committee of the National Assembly on the matter.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Son affirmed that, Resolution No. 132/2020/QH14 is an important legal corridor for the functional units under the Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Public Security to strengthen the management and use of national defense and security land for production and economic activities in accordance with the Party’s guidelines and State laws.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son also urged relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense to uphold their sense of responsibility and solidarity to overcome all difficulties and successfully fulfill their tasks.
