MPS delegation works with Hanoi City on fire safety

PSNews – A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Major General Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, recently worked with the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee and 30 districts and towns of Hanoi on fire prevention and fighting and rescue.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Tran Ngoc Duong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department briefed the delegation on the work of fire prevention and fighting and rescue in the city over the past time.

Reports briefed at the event said that, in the first 5 months of 2021, there were 165 fire and explosion incidents in the city, causing 11 deaths, 15 injuries, and property damage estimated at more than 21 billion VND.

The city has inspected 18,491 residential and business establishments, detected 2,914 violations, fined 1,328 organizations and individuals 6.4 billion VND totally for their fire prevention and fire safety regulations, as well as temporarily suspended operation of 198 business establishments and closed down 130 other business establishments.

Over the past time, the Hanoi police force also renovated methods of disseminating information about fire prevention and fire safety with diverse forms and contents.

Addressing the event, Major General Le Quoc Hung acknowledged the efforts of the Hanoi Fire Police Force. "Thanks to the local police’s efforts, Hanoi has been taking the lead in maintaining fire safety, practicing fire prevention and fighting and rescue plans, and reducing the number of fire incidents," said Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung also suggested the Hanoi authority continue to replicate effective fire prevention and fighting models across the city while mobilizing all people to participate in fire prevention and fighting, while enhancing fire safety and prevention dissemination in communities.
