Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son, Director of the Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), heading an MPS delegation, on April 9 visited the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Viet Namon the occasion of the Cambodian traditional New Year festival (Chol ChnamThmay).
On behalf of the MPS, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son extended New Year greetings to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cambodia to Vietnam Chay Navuth and his spouse as well as the staff of the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son congratulated Cambodia on their outstanding achievements in various fields over the past time.
He highlighted the fruitful results of the cooperation between the Vietnamese MPS and Cambodian counterpart, especially in maintaining national security and social order in each country, fighting transnational crimes and protecting human rights.
Particularly,amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the police forces along the borderline of the two countries effectively supported each other in preventing the spread of the disease.
The Vietnamese side thanked the Cambodian Embassy for their contribution to promoting the bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms involving both countries as well as the traditional friendship and the comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Chay Navuth thanked the Vietnamese MPS delegation for the visit and Chol ChnamThmay greetings to the embassy.
He also promised to exert his utmost efforts to further strengthen the bilateral relations for peace, stability and development in each country as well as in the region and around the world.
