MPS holds intensive training for criminal investigators in the two largest cities

The event was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and head of the Investigating Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security. The event saw the participation of representatives from the competent departments under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) with their criminal investigation authority, provincial police departments and education and training institutions of the Public Security Forces.

At the conference, the delegates were briefed on the basic contents and important notes in 2 decrees, 4 inter-sectoral circulars, and 5 circulars on detailed guidelines and instructions of the implementation of the 2015 Penal Code with amendments and supplements in 2017, the 2015 Law on Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies and the 2015 Law on Arrest and Custudy, which were issued by the Central judicial branch and the Minister of Public Security to agencies and units of the Public Security Forces.
Speaking at the event Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong urged the heads of the public security units to thoroughly grasp all contents discussed at the conference, and then to convey these contents to all officers of their units, especially those directly involved in the criminal investigation, so as to minimize mistakes in the process of investigating criminal cases.

He asked the investigation sector to reorganize the investigation force for more working effectiveness and efficiency while ensuring sufficient quantity and quality of investigation officers at police units at all levels.
Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong also asked the Council on Law dissemination and Education, as well as the press and media agencies of the Public Security Forces to step up dissemination of the laws to people. Meanwhile, the education and training institutions under the Ministry of Public Security should update their curricula, training documents and coursebooks with new legal documents and regulations.
