MPS holds tree-planting event

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held an event on March 3 to plant trees in Son La Provincial Police’s Headquarters. The activity also aims to raise local policemen’s awareness of protecting the environment and biodiversity.

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Son La, various leaders from the MPS and Son La province.

At the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son presented the provincial police of Son La environmental protection equipment, firefighting equipment, and medical supplies in support of the local police in COVID-19 prevention.

After the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and other delegates planted over 1,000 trees in the compounds of the headquarters of the provincial police.

On the same day, the deputy minister also checked security and order protection work of Son La police.

According to a report at the meeting, during the Traditional Lunar New Year holiday, the number of criminal offences in the province reduced against the same period last year. No serious criminal case was recorded. The numbers of traffic accidents and traffic tolls also dropped. The provincial police also played an active role in COVID-19 prevention and fight.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son spoke highly of the efforts and achievements of the provincial police and asked them to continue to ensure security and order, and strengthen prevention and combat of crimes, especially drug-related crimes. They should also take good care of the grass-roots police force.
