MPS inaugurates traffic monitoring system on Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on June 27 attended and delivered a speech at a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to inaugurate a traffic monitoring system on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway.

The Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway is the first expressway in the Central region, with a length of 139 km.

The traffic surveillance system includes 10 day-and-night 360-degree IP cameras, 17 day-and-night multi-lane video tachometers, 16 license plate identifying cameras, 35 violation-detecting IP cameras, eight electronic tablets and other devices synchronously connected to the Control Center located at the headquarters of Highway Traffic Control and Patrol Team No. 5 and the Traffic Violation Handling Office in Danang.

The images recorded by the monitoring system will serve as evidence for traffic police to handle traffic safety violations in accordance with the laws.

Major General Le Xuan Duc, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, hands over the traffic monitoring system to Highway Traffic Control and Patrol Team No. 5.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son emphasized the need and importance of traffic monitoring systems on national expressways, including the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway. He said that they will support the police forces in not only ensuring traffic order and safety but also maintaining security and social order, and fighting crimes.

The Deputy Minister requested the Traffic Police Department under the MPS and the police departments of Da Nang city and provinces along the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to coordinate closely with other concerned agencies to popularize the significance of the traffic monitoring system to people with the aim of improving the public awareness of observing traffic safety regulations on the expressway.

He also assigned Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 5 to effectively manage, maintain, and employ the traffic monitoring system.
