MPS leader inspects preparations for election in Central region

PSNews - Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Subcommittee on Security and Order for election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, chaired an online meeting on May 10 with the police departments of 13 provinces in the Central Highlands and South-Central Coast.

At the meeting, representatives from the police departments of the 13 provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Binh Phuoc briefed the Deputy Minister on their work of ensuring security for the election.

Accordingly, the local police forces have worked out plans to safeguard the event and respond to possible security-related situations in line withtheir upper levels' directions.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang praised the 13 provincial police departments for their efforts over the past time.

He urged the local police forces to grasp the local situations and maintain public order and security at the grassroots levels while staying alert against sabotage activities by hostile and reactionary forces.

The Deputy Minister also requested the police forces of the 13 provinces to further popularize information about the upcoming election in couple with promoting the “All people protect national security” movement as well as other emulation movements, contributing to the overall success of the significant political event of the country.

In addition, amidst the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MPS leader emphasized that the local police departments should continue to advise their upper levels on plans and measures to successfully hold the election and at the same time prevent the pandemic.
