MPS leaders check security works for DPRK - US Summit

Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on February 26 led a delegation to check security works at various places in Hanoi, in which the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) - USA Summit and other related activities may take place.
After listening to reports by heads of relevant units, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam instructed the participating public security units to exert all-out effort to ensure absolute safety and security for the summit and related activities. Deputy Minister Nam also underscored that the Ministry of Public Security had closely coordinated with the Ministry of Defence, the authorities of involved localities as well as relevant forces of the USA and DPRK to draw up and implement various plans to ensure security for the summit.

Earlier on the same day, a working delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, had also checked operations and plans of the units of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department responsible for traffic order and safety and logistic works.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Vien, Vice Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police, said that the city’s police forces have implemented all plans to ensure security and order for the summit. The municipal police have mobilized all forces and means to serve the summit, Vien added.
Particularly, the Traffic Police Office of Hanoi in coordination with other professional units under the Hanoi Municipal Police Department and the MPS is implementing plans to ensure traffic order and safety during the summit while the logistic, technical and signal police units provide good services under the plans.
Speaking at the working session with the Municipal Police Department of Hanoi, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son appreciated the efforts of all participating police officers and soldiers, particularly the traffic police force. He acknowledged that the Public Security Forces are implementing their assigned tasks as planned. Deputy Minister Son emphasized that it is both responsibility and honor of the Public Security Forces and of Vietnam as a whole to host such an important international event.
