MPS meets press agencies on occasion of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day

According to Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Department of Communications and Information under the Ministry of Public Security, over the past years, the public security press sector has developed vigorously and now includes the Public Security Newspaper with several publications and five other newspapers run by local police authorities, the Public Security Television (ANTV), the Public Security Radio, the Public Security Online Newspaper (PSNews) and the Public Security Review. The sector employs more than 1,000 reporters and editors.

Particularly, the Vietnamese Government has just recognized the Public Security Newspaper as one of the six major national media and press agencies, while ANTV is one of the seven national political television channels.
Over the past years, the public security press sector has quickly popularized the guidelines and directions of the Party, policies and laws of the State, and the directions of the MPS’s leadership while press and media products made by the public security press and media sector also focus on reflecting the People’s Public Security Forces’ core missions of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.

Especially, public security newspapers, TV and Radio have effectively fought wrong and hostile views against the Party and the State, and served as a bridge between the Public Security Forces and the people.
With their achievements, the public security press agencies have received various awards and honors from the Party and the State. Many press articles, TV and radio products made by public security journalists won high prizes at the National Press Awards and other local press competitions.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and theMPS, Minister To Lam expressed his gratitude to the press management agencies and other press agencies. He also praised and congratulated all public security press agencies and their staff on their achievements over the past time.

Minister To Lam asked the public security press sector to promote moral and political education for public security journalists, saying that they should strongly fight wrongdoings in society and sabotage activities by hostile forces. He also requested the sector to increase dissemination of good people and good deeds, particularly exemplary public security officers who work on the forefront of the fight against crimes.
According to him, public security newspapers, TV and radio should highlight the sacrifice, effort and contribution of public security officers who protect national security, maintain public order and safety and safeguard the peaceful life for the people.
He recommended that public security press and media agencies should renovate the forms and contents of their journalism products and increase Internet-based journalism platforms.
