MPS opens training course on natural disaster rescue skills for public security officers

The Standing Office of the Steering Committees for Climate Change, Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense (UPT Steering Committees) under Ministry of Public Security (MPS) opened a training course on search and rescue for officers at local police units on October 14.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the course, Senior Colonel Hau Van Ly, Deputy Chief of the MPS Office and Standing Deputy Head of the UPT Steering Committee, emphasized that the training course will equip police officers and soldiers with knowledge and skills in response to climate change and natural disasters. 

The trainees will drill in search and rescue skills, and learn how to use watercraft in conducting search and rescue missions. They are also provided with knowledge of State management over natural disaster relief, search and rescue.

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Panel of the training course announced the decision to open the course which runs till October 18.
