MPS reviews 5-year of implementation of education and training renovation project

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on November 4 held a conference to review the 5-year implementation of Resolution No.17 of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and Directive No.13 of the Minister of Public Security on the fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education and training in the Public Security Forces. 


Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the event. Major General Do Anh Tuan, Director of the Education and Training Department chaired the event.

Reports at the event read that, after 5 years of implementation, Resolution No.17 of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and Directive No.13 of the Minister of Public Security, public security schools have achieved many fruitful results, and reached many of the set targets.

During the past 5 years, 22 organizations and 61 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the MPS, and 47 organizations and 26 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Education and Training Department, for their outstanding achievements in implementing the resolution and directive.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, 2 public security schools received the Government's Emulation Flag, 5 schools were offered Emulation Flags by the MPS, and 3 schools got Certificates of Merit from the MPS.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh praised outstanding achievements and efforts made by the leadership, staff and students of public security schools and other local police units, saying that they contributed significantly to the public security education and training sector over the past time.

He then asked the Education and Training Department to further strengthen and develop all public security education and training institutions, while reviewing all education and training programs for the forces.

Meanwhile, public security education and training institutions should further renovate textbooks, programs, curricula and teaching methods. They should increase IT applications in school management and administration as well as in teaching and learning, and develop a number of key training courses, including training courses in foreign languages. 

The Deputy Minister also required relevant units to focus on building the project “Renovating full-time undergraduate enrollment in the period 2021-2025”, and attach much importance to building a contingent of competent public security teachers and education administrators.

At the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh presented the Government's Excellent Emulation Flag and Certificates of Merit of the MPS to units with outstanding achievements in the “For National Security” movement in the 2019-2020 academic year, and presented Certificates of Merit of the MPS for organizations with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No.17 and Directive No.13.
