The Ministry of Public Security’s Office on November 26 organized a symposium themed “Reviewing cooperation on crime prevention and combat between police forces of Vietnam and Cambodia from 1992 to 2015”.

Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen speaks at the event.

Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen, Vice Head of the MPS Office, chaired the workshop.

Vietnam and Cambodia are the two neighboring countries that are enjoying long-standing comprehensive cooperation in various fields, including crime prevention and combat, social order and safety maintenance, contributing to building a borderline of peace, stability, friendship, cooperation and development.

Although the bilateral cooperation between the police forces of the two countries have achieved good outcomes over the past years, there is still room to be expanded.

In reality, there has not yet been any comprehensive scientific research on the cooperation between the two countries’ police force in crime prevention and combat. Furthermore, few lessons and experience have been drawn from practices to advise the two governments on policies to promote the bilateral cooperation. Thus, the scientific research project “Reviewing cooperation on crime prevention and combat between police forces of Vietnam and Cambodia from 1992 to 2015” is necessary and significant in both theoretical and practical aspects.

Participants of the symposium discussed in depth the outline and subjects of the research.

Speaking at the workshop, Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen appreciated all recommendations given by the delegates and asked the group of authors to collect all ideas for further revision of the research and soon complete it, contributing to promoting efficiency and effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides in preventing and combating crimes.
