MPS reviews emulation and reward activities

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on July 27 organized a conference to review its emulation and reward work in the first 6 months of 2018 and announced new plans for the rest of the year.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister, Vice Head of the Emulation and Reward Council of the MPS chaired the conference.

The emulation and reward work of the Public Security Forces has been implemented seriously in the first half of 2018. 

Emulation movements have been carried out in a regular and effective manner, and participated actively in by all agencies and units under the MPS, which has contributed to successfully fulfilling their political missions. 

Meanwhile, the reward work has been conducted objectively and exactly, meeting the political requirements and fostering the emulation movements.

During the first half of this year, the General Department of Politics approved 525 reward proposals with 16,429 outstanding individuals and teams in the 544 total proposed files on 16,604 candidates; the number of awardees rose 12% compared with the same period of 2017.

At the meeting, delegates of agencies and units nationwide thoroughly discussed the causes of both results and shortcomings as well as difficulties in the implementation of emulation and reward work. They also proposed solutions to raise the effectiveness of emulation and reward work in the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh urged all public security agencies and units to strictly implement their assigned tasks in the coming time while proactively advising the local Party committees and leaders of their agencies and units to effectively realize all policies of the Party and State on emulation and reward work.

He also asked public security agencies and units to promote the movements of “For Fatherland’s Security” and “Public Security Forces following Uncle Ho’s 6 teachings”, “Building on the People's Public Security Forces’ manners of bravery, humanity and devotedness to the people” as well as other patriotic emulation movements while avoiding ostentatious, wasteful and ineffective activities, causing wastes, regularly conducting checks of the implementation, reviewing both results and limitations to better fulfill emulation and reward work.
