MPS reviews operation of Interdisciplinary Expert Group of Steering Committee 138/CP

The Office of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on December 12 held a Conference to review operational results of the Interdisciplinary Expert Group of Steering Committee 138/CP in 2019.

An overview of the event. 

Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen, Deputy Chief of the MPS Office, chaired the Conference.

According to the general report delivered at the conference, based on the 2019 working agenda of Steering Committee 138/CP, the MPS Office, the standing office under the Steering Committee, directed the Interdisciplinary Expert Group to take various steps in the prevention and combat of crimes and human trafficking.

Particularly, the group advised the Steering Committee to promulgate two inspection plans and set up interdisciplinary inspection teams to work with 25 localities across the country.

It also advised the Government on crime prevention and management of mineral resources, sand and gravel in river beds as well as on a master plan to review the installation and use of security camera systems, the application of social networks in crime prevention and combat nationwide.

The group also coordinated with various units in advising the Prime Minister to issue a directive on strengthening prevention and fight against crimes and law violations related to “black credit.

The group also promoted interdisciplinary coordination activities in 2019, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of working relations among various ministries, branches and agencies in preventing and combating crimes and human trafficking. 

After listening to the general report, delegates discussed several issues related to the operation of the group and pointed out strengths and weaknesses in operations of the interdisciplinary group in 2019.

They also suggested solutions to remaining issues as well as agreed on major tasks that the group should do in the time to come.

Speaking at the event, Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen asked the interdisciplinary group to successfully fulfil all given tasks in the time to come under the direction of the Steering Committee 138/CP. General Tuyen also asked the group to note good ideas and recommendations raised at the conference to complete the summary report on crime prevention and control in 2019 and action plan for 2020.
