MPS reviews task performance in April

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a conference on May 8 to review its performance of tasks in April and roll out new plans for May.

The event was chaired by General To Lam, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security.

The conference also saw the presence of other leaders of the MPS as well as leaders of agencies and units under the MPS and Hanoi Municipal Police Department.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam asked all agencies and units of the MPS to further obtain achievements and effectively implement all policies of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government as well as directions of the MPS leaders. Particularly, all public security agencies and units should focus on fulfilling the 2019 working program and schedule of the Ministry and Public Security Central Party Committee, ensure security and safety for leaders of the Party, State, international delegations, important events of the country.

Investigation units were asked to shorten investigation time of cases, particularly the major economic and corruption cases, and report regularly the progresses of the investigation to the Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption. The whole police force should step up prevention and fight against the crimes infringing upon people’s life, health and dignity, especially crimes against women and children; effectively fight against transnational drug trafficking and open campaigns to crack down on drug criminal rings along the Vietnam-Laos borderline.

Minister To Lam also asked the press and media of the Public Security Forces to coordinate with other press agencies to promote information and education on prevention and fight against crimes, and the national security protection movement while improving the quality of programs, articles and reports on the fight against “peaceful evolution”, “self-evolution”, “self-transformation”, as well as the fight against distorted information, wrong views and sabotage schemes of hostile, reactionary forces.

He underlined leaders of all police units should set an example at work and tighten the working regulations as well as the force’s regulation.
