MPS’s Institute of Criminal Science urged to improve capabilities

PSNews – The Institute of Criminal Science under the Ministry of Public Security on January 10 held a conference to review 2018’s task performance and roll out key mission for 2019 with the participation of Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Last year, thanks to the sound direction of the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership, the good coordination of other professional units as well as great efforts of cadres, the Institute of Criminal Science successfully fulfilled its missions.

The institute conducted field examination of hundreds of serious criminal cases while continuously improving expertise, knowledge and skills of its officers, meeting various technical demands for crime prevention and control.

In 2018, the Institute of Criminal Science also gained various practical results in training experts in forensics and criminal science.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong hailed the achievements of the Institute of Criminal Science in recent times. He urged the unit to continue to actively participate in building and completing institutions, policies and laws related to criminal science.

According to him, the criminal science work should be closely linked to the criminal investigation and vice versa. Deputy Minister Vuong urged the two forces should further strengthen their working coordination and cooperation mechanisms.

He also emphasized that the Institute of Criminal Science should expand coordination with units inside and outside the Public Security Forces to innovate working methods and raise its working capacity so as to provide accurate results of evidence examination better serving criminal investigation.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security also asked the Institute of Criminal Science to focus on Party and force building; to tighten working disciplines; strengthen management; and increase personnel training to equip its experts and workers with advanced knowledge and technical skills.
