MPS’s high-ranking delegation visits relics of former headquarter
A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security on August 19 visited the relics of the former Headquarters of the Central Police Bureau in Bac Giang province on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-2018), and 13th "All people protecting National security" Festive Day.
The delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, had a meeting at the historical site of the former Central Public Security Bureau Headquarters in Minh Thanh commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, and offered incense and wreaths to President Ho Chi Minh and public security heroic martyrs, expressing their deep gratitude to the nation’s heroes who laid down their lives for the cause of national liberation and unity.

The delegation was also joined by Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee Chau Van Lam and Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People Committee Pham Minh Huan.
Speaking at the Uncle Ho’s memorial site, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam said, all public security officers always remember the great contribution of President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of the Party and Vietnamese people in general and the Public Security Forces in particular.
In promoting the 73 years of glorious tradition, the Public Security Forces have restlessly strived to fulfill all assigned political tasks and gained fruitful results in recent years in building cleaner and stronger People’s Public Security Forces.
Accordingly, in the first half of 2018, criminal cases saw a decline of 0.17% in comparison to 2017 while the rate of the resolved criminal cases reached 79.5%, contributing to maintaining a peaceful environment for socio-economic development. For their outstanding achievements, more than 15 thousand collectives and individuals honored with noble awards by the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security.
During the uncompromising struggles against crimes, 5 public security officers heroically laid down their lives, 90 other were wounded while 30 officers were exposed to HIV.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security also briefed the delegates on the ongoing process of reorganizing the Public Security Forces’ apparatus in accordance with the Resolution 22 issued on March 15 by the Politburo, Decree 01 issued on August 6 by the Government, saying the Ministry has gained many achievements in renovating and streamlining the public security forces for more efficiency and effectiveness.
Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam affirmed that, in the face of all difficulties and challenges in the new context, the People’s Public Security Forces always commit themselves to staying absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the people, the Party and the State as well as to constantly cultivating the revolutionary qualities and virtues, learning the thought, morals and style of Uncle Ho, and to follow Uncle Ho’s 6 teachings.
