MPS supports Yen Bai in disaster relief

PSNews – A working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, visits and inspects disaster relief and support operations for victims of the recent floods in Yen Bai.

Mr. Do Duc Duy, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province reported that heavy rains had caused serious damages and losses to local people and property in 8 out of 9 districts, towns and cities of the province. Districts of Tram Tau, Van Chan and Nghia Lo town suffered huge human and material losses: 06 dead, 16 missing, 7 wounded; 1,251 houses affected... worth over VND 500 billion.

After the floods and landslides, the provincial authorities focused on the search and rescue of victims, ensuring the social welfare system, visited and inquired after relatives of victims and families affected by the disasters. 

Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh expressed his sympathy with the losses of Yen Bai and appreciated the efforts by the provincial authorities in disaster relief. He particularly applauded the regular and timely directions by leadership of the province and the participation of the police forces in the search and rescue operations of victims.

The Deputy Minister handed the donation of 100 million from the MPS to each locality and VND 50 million to each police office of Tram Tau and Van Chan districts and Nghia Lo town.
