MPS to further coordinate with functional forces in managing COVID-19 quarantine

PSNews - Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a video meeting on September 18 between the Government’s standing members with leaders of ministries, agencies and local authorities to discuss issues related to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.

According to PM Phuc, up to now, Vietnam has successfully contained the pandemic situation. There have been no new infected cases in the community over the past 15 days.

At the meeting, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the MPS’s Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention and Control, stated that the public security forces across the country have strengthened the management of foreigners, detected and strictly handled many cases of illegal entry and those organizing illegal entry of foreigners into Vietnam.

Notably, on September 17, the Ho Chi Minh City's Security Investigation Agency prosecuted three persons for organizing illegal foreign residence in Vietnam. The Ho Chi Minh City’s police then expelled 11 foreigners involved in the case from the country.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son affirmed that the MPS will further coordinate with other functional forces to strictly manage and supervise the implementation of preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic at accommodation establishments and quarantine zones, contributing to preventing the spread of the disease into the community.

To conclude the meeting, the PM spoke highly of the sense of responsibility of ministries, agencies and local authorities in the fight against the COVID-19.

Particularly, he requested the ministries, agencies and local authorities to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Health and the MPS to create favorable conditions for foreign experts and investors to enter and work in Vietnam in accordance with the pandemic prevention and control regulations.
