According to Decision No. 1232 / QD-BCA-X05 issued on February 21, 2020 by the Minister of Public Security, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) will inspect fire prevention and fighting plans at the People's Committee of Hanoi and its agencies and units, including the Office of Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi Police Department, Hanoi Industrial and Processing Zones Authority, Hanoi Water Limited Company, the People's Committees of Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Long Bien and Thanh Tri districts.
The 6-member Inspection Team of the MPS is headed by Major General Phan Xuan Son, Vice Chief Inspector of the MPS.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son highlighted that in recent years, the city’s fast socio-economic development and urbanization with a large number of new residential, production and business facilities built have led to high risk of fire and explosion.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that under the inspection plan in 2020, the MPS conducted a specialized inspection of the implementation of the law on fire prevention and fighting of the Hanoi People's Committee and agencies and units in the city. This inspection aims to assess the actual situation of the observance of legal provisions on fire prevention and fighting of Hanoi People's Committee and local agencies and units as well as to identify and overcome their limitations and shortcomings.
Deputy Minister Son asked the MPS inspectors to strictly follow the law on fire prevention and fighting while avoiding affecting the normal operation of the inspected agencies and units and their COVID-19 prevention work.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu thanked the MPS leader for his guidance and requested all target agencies and units to coordinate closely with the inspectors, creating favorable conditions for the mission to well fulfill its tasks, thereby contributing to improving fire prevention and fighting plans of the City People's Committee and local agencies and units.
