MPS to pilot the building of “Exemplary ward police post” in metropolises

Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired a video conference on June 7 with the police of five municipalities on a project to pilot the building of the “Exemplary ward police post” in ensuring security, social order, and urban civilization.

Following the directions and guidelines of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ministry of Public Security (MPS) leadership on building the “Exemplary ward police post”, the five municipal police departments of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, and Hai Phong each selected a ward police post to build the exemplary model.

At the conference, the delegates gave their opinions on the draft set of criteria for a typical ward police post.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To stressed the importance of building a set of specific criteria for the exemplary ward police post, saying it is the measure to assess the results of the project.

In the time to come, the Deputy Minister asked the functional agencies under the MPS to refer to the opinions given by delegates at the meeting, revise and complete the criteria for “Exemplary ward police post”.

The MPS leader also asked five municipal police departments to actively advise their upper levels on the project. At the same time, they should organize training courses on “Exemplary ward police post” project for their officers and soldiers, contributing to building a contingent of qualified and capable ward police officers. “Each ward police post should become an exemplary and civilized unit in the people’s eyes”, he added.
