Meeting on drug-related crimes between Vietnam and Cambodia

PSNews - The General Department of Police (GDP) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security organized a meeting on cooperation between the Border Liaison Offices (BLOs) of Vietnam and Cambodia in combating drug-related crimes of in Ho Chi Minh City on November 22th.

This event aimed to concretize the agreement signed by the two sides at the 15th Vietnam-Cambodia  Ministerial bilateral meeting on cooperation on drug prevention held from 8th to 11th December 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Dong Dai Loc, Deputy Director of the Vietnamese GDP, who headed a Vietnamese police delegation. The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Mak Chito, Deputy Director of the Cambodia National Police.

The conference took place in an atmosphere of friendship, comprehensive cooperation, mutual understanding and respect. The two sides exchanged views on the results of operations of the BLOs, canvassed the shortcomings and sought solutions to improve operational efficiency of the BLOs in the future.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Dong Dai Loc, emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia are neighboring countries, with a fine traditional friendship. The Government and the National Committee for AIDS, Drug and Prostitution Prevention of Vietnam always attached importance to strengthening cooperation with Cambodia in preventing and fighting crime and drug trafficking, considering it one of the top priorities in the policy of preventing and combating drug-related crimes in Vietnam.
