Minister To Lam attends new academic year's opening ceremony at Public Security Academy

PSNews - The Public Security Academy (PSA) on October 12 held a solemn ceremony to open the 2017-2018 academic year. Senior Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. To Lam, member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security attended and made a keynote speech at the meeting.  

The State President Tran Dai Quang, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh sent congratulations flowers to the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam praised the outstanding achievements of the teachers, officers and students of the Public Security Academy in the academic year 2016-2017.

Minister To Lam applauded the academy's plans for the 2017-2018 academic year and urged the academy to improve the quality of education and training in all kinds of courses, as well as the quality of scientific research serving the academy’s development in both short and long term.

The Minister of Public Security also congratulated all freshmen of D49 course on their enrollment. Minister To Lam asked the PSA's students to continue to study hard and promote the tradition "veneration of teacher and respect for morality", actively improve knowledge and professional skills while developing the noble personality of the public security officer in order to complete all tasks assigned by the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security and the people.

Over the past 50 years, generations of the teachers and students of the PSA have overcome many difficulties and attained great achievements during the academy’s construction and development, significantly contributing to the cause of education and training as well as the cause of national security protection, social order and safety.

The new academic year 2017-2018 holds important meaning to the PSA as the Academy is striving to implement the program to develop into a national and standardized education institution by 2020.
